Televised Revolution – Episode 193

Dan takes Televised Revolution on the road with a TV tour of the city of Melbourne. By no means is this comprehensive of the many televisual delights that Melbourne has to offer, but rather its a snapshot of what Dan got up to TV-wise over a week.

While the intended tour itself was a bit of a dud, but along the way Dan finds himself at Channel Nine and at an ABC2 launch party.

Interviews include:

  • Peter Hitchener
  • Rob McKnight
  • David Knox
  • Stuart Menzies

Televised Revolution – Episode 189

In September of 2010, Televised Revolution made the jump from a weekly radio show on Triple Zed in Brisbane to a weekly podcast-exclusive show. When this happened, we rebooted our numbering and started anew. At the time, it was very fresh and exciting, but almost a year on it just looks downright funny. It’s difficult to explain to people that we’ve been doing the show for longer than a year when they note we’re only up to 50+ podcasts.

From this week, we’re embracing the Televised Revolution heritage by renumbering. We’ve combined the totals from both volumes of the podcast and we’re pressing forth. Hence, this week is actually episode 189.

This week our panel of Dan Barrett, Simon Band, and Dennis Dugandzic discuss:

  • eSports with guest Luke Miller.
  • The 100th birthday of Lucille Ball.
  • Question marks over Austar customer contracts.
  • Sunrise embraces Google+ hangouts.
  • Is David Leckie set to move on from his role at Channel 7?
  • Channel 10 opts not to go ahead with the ARIA awards .

We also run through the usual segments Love It Or Hate It and provide some TV Highlights.

The 400 Club Podcast – Episode 26

It’s not easy dealing with betrayal. And when that betrayal is lumped out in 27 minute increments a week, it’s difficult not just riding it out. You bargain with yourself. You tell yourself that maybe the relationship will get better once more. But it never does. Sometimes they need to be cut free.

This week the panel discuss the fading light that is Entourage (S08E01) [10:47] and the shining light that is Curb Your Enthusiasm (S08E03) [19:57]. The panel also take the time to consider shows that have extended out a season beyond their use-by date.
